Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, (I Pe. 1:3-4)

God is holy. Man is sinful. There is a great chasm between a holy God and sinful man. Because God is overflowing with compassionate love and kindness, He made the ultimate sacrifice by giving up His only Son for man so that man might have a way to cross the chasm between God and himself. If one is to experience a relationship with God, he must confess faith in Jesus, believing that He died, was buried, and rose from the dead. When he does, a relationship between God and man is born and God adopts him into His family. The new believer becomes a child of God, a partaker of an incorruptible and unpolluted inheritance.

Our relationship with the Lord is unlike any other. Jesus is holy, perfect, and pure, sent from heaven above. We are earthly, unrighteous, and unclean, born into a world of fleshly lusts and desires. When we enter into relationship with the Lord, we are bound to encounter scrimmages as our earthly ways collide with His holy ways. It takes time to know, to understand, to choose His ways over our ways. Jesus is not only our Savior and friend, but also the One who has wonderfully and fearfully made us. He is intimately acquainted with all our ways, good and bad. He loves us with a love far greater than we could ever imagine. He gives us the Holy Spirit, eternal life, and a reason for living. We give Him praise and adoration, our fleshly lusts, our life, our hopes and fears. Ever-so-slowly, He is transforming our lives into the image He has for us—holy, perfect, and pure.

Is this your testimony? Do you know and appreciate that God has done great things in you? He is the creator of all things, in heaven and on earth. He created the world with His infinite wisdom. His works are, indeed, too wonderful to know. The greatest work of all is that He has provided a way for you to enter an eternal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Today is a good day to thank Him for His wonderful plan of salvation. Can you think of someone you could tell about the great things He has done in your life? For some, you are the closest they will come to seeing Jesus. You are an ambassador for Jesus. How is your ambassadorship going? What do you foresee happening today that you could be His spokesperson in someone’s life and proclaim “To God be the glory, great things He has done”?
