Listen to All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name

All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ Name!
Let angels prostrate fall;

Listen to devotion

. . . I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders, . . . ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Rev. 5:11-12)

. . . The curtains are parted, giving John a glimpse into heaven. Angels beyond number in the outer courts are gazing at the Lamb and the redeemed church, the crowning manifestation of God’s love, wisdom, and power. Heaven is united in a symphony of praise to the Lamb that was slain. Voices raised in adoration praising Him Who alone is worthy. His victorious death granting Him power to bestow riches beyond measure upon His church. Worthy to receive power—authority over all things because of all that He is and all that He has done. Riches—abundance of grace and glory. Wisdom—knowledge perfected at the cross where mercy meets justice. Strength—ability to accomplish His purpose, subdue His enemy, and enable the redeemed to resist temptation. Honor—esteemed for what He has done; made equal with the Father. Glory—due to Him upon completing His work; living in the heart of the redeemed. Blessing—heartfelt desire that the Worthy Lamb be honored, respected, loved, and obeyed through all eternity.

The angels, in profound reverence and adoration, are no longer able to stand, but fall prostrate before the Lamb, kissing the ground as they witness us, the church, the Bride of Christ, clothed in robes of justification, holiness, victory and their heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus, head of the church. They are in the holy place (Rev. 7:11). Our Savior and Redeemer, worthy of all praise, King of all kings and Lord of all lords. Jesus has fulfilled the Law, He has conquered death, He has offered Himself as a sacrifice, loving us, loving His church, loving God. All converge at the cross. Because of Jesus, our names are written in the Book of Life, He has reserved a place for us in heaven. We are His beloved Bride. Let us go forth, voices lifted in praise, with heaven in our view, purity in our hopes, and worship in our hearts. Daily we seek to fulfill His Law of love, conquering sin, crucifying the flesh, and loving the Lord with all our heart and soul and mind.

Can you imagine what it will be like in heaven, to be the Bride of Christ, counted among the redeemed, worshiping the Lamb, joining your voice with the host of heavenly angels? You are part of the church, blood-bought by the Lamb of God, the Holy One, the Lord of all. Today is your day to crucify the flesh, fulfill His Law of love, and confirm your love for the Lamb that was slain. “All hail the power of Jesus’ Name! Let angels prostrate fall.”
